Qiang Zhang began his career studying lantern techniques under veteran Zigong lantern artisans before teaching himself programmable lighting and control systems.
He specializes in adjusting color temperature, brightness, and lighting dynamics according to the lantern’s theme and materials, whether silk, printed fabric, or ceramic components. His lighting design enhances the movement of dragons, the elegance of phoenixes, and the grandeur of traditional gateways, allowing visitors to feel the story through light.
With 20 years of experience, Qiang combines the traditional lantern philosophy of “painting with light” with modern LED control technology. From Paris and Belgium to Los Angeles, Houston, Milwaukee, and New York, he creates lighting experiences that shape cultural atmosphere rather than simply illuminate objects.
Lighting is not about making something bright. It’s about helping visitors feel the emotions behind the story.
