Tianyu Lantern Festival 2024–2025 Recap: A Magical Year of Lantern Shows Across the U.S.
As the lanterns dim and the season wraps up, we reflect on an incredible year for the Tianyu Lantern Festivals. From coast to coast, we brought illuminated storytelling, cultural artistry, and unforgettable experiences to thousands of visitors. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights and happenings from the 2024–2025 season. Each event was proudly produced and self-run by Tianyu Arts & Culture, continuing our mission to share world-class lantern displays with audiences across the U.S.
Tianyu’s Lantern Festival Debuts in Major U.S. Cities
The 2024–2025 season marked a major milestone for Tianyu. We kicked things off in the fall and winter of 2024 with stunning debuts in:
- Dallas, TX
- New York City, NY
- Phoenix, AZ
One of the most popular storylines was Koda’s Adventure to the Magic Forest, featured in Dallas and New York City. This original tale followed a young boy named Koda as he ventured through the Eastern Peruvian jungle, with his vivid imagination coming to life through our glowing lantern installations. This theme wove together adventure, nature, and wonder in a way that captivated audiences of all ages.
Lantern Festival Expansion Across America
By 2025, our glowing journey expanded to Charlotte, NC, and Roseville, CA, lighting up new cities with our signature mix of art, culture, and interactive wonder. In addition to the mesmerizing lantern displays, each location featured unique themed events that celebrated the local community and created unforgettable moments:
- Halloween Weekend (Dallas & NYC): We handed out a variety of candy to families and festivalgoers in the spirit of the season.
- Twinkle Tails Night (New York): In partnership with North Shore Animal League America, we hosted a dog-friendly adoption night on January 10, creating a festive and furry night to remember.
- Twinkle Tails (Roseville): In collaboration with the Placer SPCA, Roseville’s event encouraged guests to bring donations of dog and cat food for the shelter’s pet food drive — giving back while glowing forward.
- Morning Glow (Dallas): Early risers were treated to a special pre-dawn experience where they could enjoy the lanterns for free from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM, offering a peaceful and crowd-free way to experience the magic.
With each year, the Tianyu Lantern Festival continues to grow, evolve, and bring people together. Our goal remains to create immersive experiences where art meets imagination and where every visitor leaves with a sense of wonder. From intricate handmade lanterns to interactive play zones and community-driven nights, Tianyu is more than just a light show it celebrates culture, creativity, and connection. We’re excited for what’s next and look forward to lighting up new cities, telling new stories, and welcoming even more guests in the seasons ahead.
