Guanghong Jiang graduated from the School of Fine Arts at Sichuan University of Science & Engineering, where he studied under renowned artists Chuan Liang and Xiaobing Luo. Since 2003, he has dedicated his career to preserving and promoting the intangible cultural heritage of Zigong lantern-making.

With over 20 years of experience in lantern industry, his professional achievements include leading a large-scale lantern project in Australia in 2013, designing artistic illuminated scenery for the 2012 James Bond film Skyfall, contributing to the lantern exhibitions at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris from 2017 – 2024, Antwerp Zoo in Belgium from 2013 – 2025, Cologne Zoo in Germany from 2015 – 2025, and major U.S. exhibitions in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Seattle, Dallas, and other cities from 2022–2025.

Guanghong holds multiple utility patents, including rotating lantern mechanisms, animated jellyfish tentacle systems, realistic crab lantern drive mechanisms, and panoramic photo platforms designed to improve visitor safety. He is also a member of the Zigong Artists Association and the China Arts and Crafts Society.
