Live Performance

Performance Schedule

Shows are scheduled at 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, and 9 PM. We have an additional show at 9:45 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Each show lasts approximately 30 minutes and features the same acts. Shows may be canceled or postponed due to weather conditions.

Face Changing

Face Changing, or “bianlian”, is an ancient Chinese dramatic art and an important subgenre of Chinese Sichuan opera. Performers wear brightly colored costumes and move to quick, dramatic music. They wear vividly colored masks, typically depicting well-known characters from the opera. With the swipe of a fan, a movement of the head, or wave of the hand, they can change from one face to another. It is a romantic method to reveal the inner thoughts and emotions of the characters in the play.

Acrobatic Water Meteor

The water meteor is a traditional Chinese acrobatic show where glass bowls containing colored water are tied to each end of a colored rope. While actors dance with ropes, the crystal glass bowls whirl and fly fast, and the water in the bowls is not spilled. Acrobatics always bring jaw-dropping water meteor performances to audiences at home and abroad.

Top Skill

Top Skill, also known as “Ding Ji” in Chinese, is a highly specialized and visually stunning form of acrobatic performance that showcases incredible balance, control, and physical strength. Acrobats skillfully balance objects on various body parts, like the head, forehead, nose, and mouth. In more advanced routines, multiple layers of objects are stacked on a single stick. For example, a performer might balance a stack of bowls, all while maintaining perfect equilibrium. This not only tests the performer’s physical abilities but also their mental focus and concentration.

Spacewalk

The acrobatic show combines traditional acrobatic skills with modern technological elements, bringing the audience an unprecedented visual experience. The acrobat harnesses the power of the supports to execute a series of thrilling and gravity-defying maneuvers. She will perform various actions, like circling, handstanding, and walking on the very fabric of space, all while suspended high above the ground. This fusion of ancient acrobatic prowess with modern technology marvels results in a performance that is visually stunning and moving.

Kicking Bowls

It is a traditional form of acrobatic performance art, including a series of high-difficulty movements where the performer kicks and catches various sizes and shapes of bowls with their feet. In kick-the-bowl acrobatics, the performer uses one or both feet to kick the bowls, which rotate in the air and are accurately caught. Sometimes, they perform continuous kicking and catching movements, forming a smooth performance flow. This performance not only tests the performer’s physical skills but also requires them to have a high level of concentration and reaction speed.

Rocking Ladder

It is a breathtaking and highly skilled acrobatic performance that showcases the extraordinary physical prowess and coordination of its performer. The performance typically begins with the acrobat climbing the ladder with remarkable agility, his/her movements fluid and precise. Once at the top, they demonstrate a series of incredible balancing acts, often standing on one rung with just a single hand or foot for support. Some acrobats incorporate additional elements like handstands, somersaults, and even juggling small objects while maintaining their precarious perch on the ladder.

Handicraft Marketplace

Aluminum Braiding

Aluminum braiding is a traditional folk handicraft that involves using aluminum wire and other metal materials, which are oxidized to produce various colors. Using pliers and other tools, craftspeople use techniques such as folding, bending, binding, and weaving to create various shapes, including mythical creatures like dragons and phoenixes, as well as plants and vehicles.

Inner-Bottle Painting

Inner-bottle painting is a unique and traditional craft in China, featuring intricate designs created inside clear bottles made of glass, crystal, amber, and other materials. This art form involves meticulous craftsmanship, with artists using a specialized paintbrush inserted through the neck of the bottle to hand-paint detailed pictures.

Chinese Lanterns

Chinese lanterns are an ancient handicraft that originated in the Han Dynasty, flourished in the Tang Dynasty. Over thousands of years, lanterns have evolved into various regional styles. They are traditionally hand crafted from materials such as bamboo, silk, beads, jade, feathers, and shells. These lanterns are decorated through techniques like binding, pasting, embroidery, painting, writing, carving, and paper-cutting.

Light Up Painting

It is a stunning and unique piece of desk decor with a pretty scene: the lovely panda, the butterflies, the mystery castle, the peacock in the moonlight, and the dragon winding around the palace. These paintings are inspired by the lantern displays.

It also works as a  night light with 3 lighting modes: warm, white and neutral. You can change the mode and create the atmosphere according to your scene or mood.

Concession

Snowie King, a vendor offering shaved ice, will be at the festival. We recommend dining before or after the event. There are many food options inside the mall, which you can view here. Additional dining options are available at Fountains at Roseville, located next to the mall.

Illuminated Playground

The Illuminated Playground is perfect for kids and those young at heart. This area features plenty of photo opportunities and lets visitors touch, play, and even sit on some of the displays!
